When People’s Republic of China opened the doors to international trading, also electronic sector was affected by Asian competition. Therefore, in 1998 the Italian entrepreneur foresaw that such market had a huge potential and decided to set up a joint venture with a Chinese partner. This choice was successful from two point of views: social and economic. First of all, opening a plant in China allowed and still allows Semar to compete with international market, safeguarding jobs in Italian plant.
